Meet Gulcin Bulut, a dedicated community leader and experienced psychotherapist making a meaningful impact in Manchester.
Born in Istanbul in 1980, Gulcin relocated to Manchester in 2001 to pursue her academic aspirations. She holds a master’s degree in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from the University of Salford.
Driven by a passion for fostering connections within the Turkish community, Gulcin took the initiative to establish the “Northwest Turks” community group in 2009. This initiative flourished with the support of its members and eventually evolved into the NWTCA, a registered charity in 2016. Serving as the Founding Chair, Gulcin has played a pivotal role in organizing community events and initiatives, particularly within the Turkish community in Northwest England.
In her professional capacity, Gulcin is an experienced psychotherapist, working within the NHS and running her private practice in Chorlton. Offering therapy services in both Turkish and English, she provides support to adults from diverse cultural backgrounds. Specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy while incorporating a humanistic approach through Person-Centered Therapy, Gulcin strives to make a positive difference in the lives of her clients.
In addition to her leadership role, Gulcin leads the North West Turkish Academy and spearheads various arts-based activities. Her efforts have been instrumental in showcasing Turkish culture through events, concerts, folk dance, and choir performances at city-wide festivals, promoting greater recognition and appreciation of Turkish heritage to a wider audience.
