NWTCA is a volunteer-driven nonprofit charity dedicated to celebrating Turkish culture and education. Proudly, we’re an active part of British society, blending Turkish interests with the vibrancy of our community. Everyone is welcome here, regardless of age, background, or ties to Turkey.
Our Mission
“At NWTCA, our mission is clear: to unite people from diverse backgrounds in the Northwest of England through engaging community events and activities that celebrate Turkish culture. Through music, festivals, dance, food, and art, we create inclusive spaces where individuals of all ages and nationalities can come together to experience the richness of Turkish heritage.
As a cornerstone of the Turkish-British community, we are committed to fostering connections and a sense of belonging. One of our primary services is our “”community language teaching”” program, offering Turkish language classes for both children and adults. By providing language instruction and a range of cultural activities, we strive to serve individuals of Turkish origin or those with a connection to Turkish culture, enriching their lives and strengthening community ties.
Our Turkish lessons not only facilitate language learning but also serve as a social hub where members of the Turkish community can connect, learn, and share experiences in a welcoming environment.”
Our Vision
“Our vision at NWTCA is straightforward yet profound: to enhance learning and education for all, with a special focus on bicultural Turkish/British families, through our educational and cultural initiatives. We are committed to supporting children in their mainstream education, ensuring they have the resources and assistance they need to succeed.
Furthermore, we strive to promote mental health and wellbeing, particularly within the Turkish Community in the North West of England, through charitable activities. By addressing the challenges of poverty, sickness, and poor health, we aim to provide relief and support to those in need, offering guidance and assistance where necessary.
In alignment with our vision, we also seek to foster social inclusion by preventing individuals from becoming socially excluded and assisting those who are already marginalized to integrate into society. We believe that everyone deserves to feel valued and included, regardless of their background or circumstances.
Additionally, we are dedicated to promoting the arts, culture, and heritage for the public benefit, with a particular emphasis on Turkish music, language, festivals, dance, food, and crafts. Through these activities and events, we aim to celebrate diversity, preserve traditions, and create opportunities for cultural exchange and appreciation.”
