Welcome to the website of the North West Turkish Community Association!
Our journey began in 2009 with the “Northwest Turks” social support group, evolving into the North West Turkish Academy in 2015. Officially registered as a charity on April 5th, 2016, with the support of founding members Kürşat Uysal, Serap Adair, and Erdal Akçora, our association is deeply rooted in the Turkish community of Manchester and the surrounding areas.
At our inaugural Annual General Meeting in January 2016, we collaborated with community members to shape our objectives, focusing on cultural, educational, and social initiatives. With unwavering community support and a shared vision, our dedicated committee embarked on this journey with enthusiasm.
Our mission is to enrich the Manchester and Northwest England community through cultural, artistic, educational, and social initiatives. We aim to foster unity, celebrate our heritage, and represent our culture with pride.
From 2016 to 2020, we participated in Manchester Day festivities, showcasing Turkish culture through vibrant processions and engaging activities, leaving a lasting impression on the city.
In 2021, we expanded our reach with online folk dance classes, showcasing our cultural heritage at various events like Thank You Manchester and Horizons Festival.
Our North West Turkish Academy has been a cornerstone since 2015, offering language classes and achieving outstanding results in GCSE/A-level exams, preserving our language and culture for generations to come.
In addition to our cultural endeavors, we established the North West Turkish Business Network in 2024, fostering connections and collaborations among professionals and businesses in Manchester and beyond.
As we reflect on our accomplishments over the past nine years, we express gratitude to our community, sponsors, instructors, and supporters who have been instrumental in our success.
Looking ahead, we remain committed to promoting Turkish culture, providing support to our community, and fostering cooperation.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who has contributed to our association’s journey. Together, we have built a remarkable organization that serves as a beacon of Turkish culture in England.
